New Class!

Anyone interested in learning to draw in a traditional style, come sign up for my class here. It's a cast drawing course where you can learn how to accurately draw what you see using methods which can later be applied to painting since painting is essentially drawing, with color.

If you would like to paint the figure come sign up for this class. In this course we have 10 sessions, each being five hours, to paint the figure in one pose. The purpose of the long pose is to bring the painting to a complete finish and become familiar with the pose in all it's aspects rather than just gesture.

Silver Kettle, oil on canvas.

I was very much inspired by Emil Carlsen's work when I painted this piece. His choice of backgrounds is so beautiful. I think with the next one I will try an even more detailed background with softer objects.

Jazveh, oil on panel.
Sometimes it is difficult to find a connection with a still-life painting, or to even get inspiration from every-day objects to create. This was not one of those times. I loved working on this piece, even the slow days when, at the end of the day, it felt like I had made no progress.
